Selectivity Through Wavelength Filtering
Since the optical filter transmits only the target absorption band, the sensor is selectively responsive to the intended gas and remains insensitive to interfering gases whose spectral signatures fall outside this range. This wavelength-based selectivity is far more specific than the cross-sensitive response of catalytic beads. NDIR is also not poisoned by silicones or H2S, has no oxygen dependence, and offers a service life of 10+ years.
