MIPEX-1H [CH₄] is a miniature methane sensor based on NDIR technology, developed for portable detectors used in industrial safety. Thanks to its ultra-low power consumption (less than 0.2 mW) and compact design (19.9×19.9×10 mm), the sensor enables long-term autonomous operation in battery-powered devices.
With a wide supply voltage range of 2.7 to 5.0 V, MIPEX-1H provides flexible integration into various systems. Its smart microcontroller outputs stable, linearized readings over UART and compensates for temperature changes and environmental factors such as humidity and pressure.
ADVANTAGES:
- Minimal power consumption: less than 65 μA during continuous operation (~0.2 mW), ideal for multi-year battery-powered use.
- Flexible supply voltage: operates from 2.7 V to 5.0 V, allowing compatibility with a broad range of power sources and microcontroller platforms.
- Fast response time: T90 time is just 10 seconds for methane without a dust filter — enabling prompt leak detection.
- High measurement accuracy: ±0.1% vol. or ±5% of reading (whichever is greater) at +20…+25 °C.
- Extended operating range: works in ambient temperatures from -55 to +60 °C and humidity up to 98%.
- Life time: expected operational life exceeds 10 years, even in demanding industrial conditions.
Interface:
- Smart digital output: built-in microcontroller with UART interface delivers ready-to-use, linearized data.
Dimensions:
-
Compact form factor: only 19.9 × 19.9 × 10 mm, making it easy to fit into even the smallest portable gas detectors.
- Explosion-proof design: sensor is designed in compliance with: IECEx, ATEX, UL913, CSA.
